I've spent decades in autism-focused special education, most recently as principal of a school for students with autism and I'm a grandmother to a grandson on the spectrum.
I speak to grandparent groups and organizations because I believe grandparents can be an invaluable resource for families raising kids with autism and I want every grandparent to feel equipped, informed, and hopeful.
I am also the author of the book, Grandparenting on the Spectrum: A Journey From Both Sides of the Desk.
