My name is Jennifer Kaufman. I've spent over 15 years as the principal of autism and special education schools, providing support and guidance to students and their families.
I thought those experiences prepared me for anything, and then my grandson Ben was diagnosed with autism.
That collision between the professional and the deeply personal is what this work is built on. I know what grandparents need to hear because I needed to hear it too. I know what families need from the people who love them because I am one of those people.
